Rediscover one of the RSCDS’s most enduring and beloved collections with Miss Milligan’s Miscellany of Scottish Country Dances—affectionately known as MMM. This volume brings together the complete set of dances from the original two‑volume Miscellanies, presented in a single, convenient A5 book. Carefully revised in 2007, the instructions have been updated to modern standard terminology, ensuring clarity and consistency for today’s dancers and teachers.
This edition offers a beautifully structured reference for classes, social dancing, and personal study. Whether you are revisiting classics or discovering them for the first time, the Miscellany remains a cornerstone of the RSCDS repertoire.
Within its pages, you will find a rich variety of reels, jigs, and strathspeys, each meticulously preserved from earlier RSCDS publications. The selection spans well‑known favourites such as Abernethy Lassies, Anderson’s Rant, The Banks of Clyde, Bonnie Geordie’s Wig, Captain Mackintosh, Hooper’s Jig, Espie McNabb, and The Fife Hunt—along with many more dances that reflect the breadth and heritage of Scottish country dancing.
Presented in a compact format ideal for the dance bag and classroom alike, Miss Milligan’s Miscellany remains a testament to the dedication, scholarship, and musicality that shaped the early years of the Society. It is an invaluable resource for dancers, teachers, musicians, and collectors.
